Hi All,
Is it possible to limit the access to Sns for the authenticated users only?
For, the default page is "Videos" so anyone can watch videos.

I am in a similar situation. What I do is break down my LDAP user additions
per subgroups in LDAP (via filters). Once they are added and highlight all
users in that subgroup and move users to their specific groups. Then I repeat
the process for each subgroup. The initial additions may take a little extra
work but it gets you to your final goals.

Hello,
Unfortunately, there is no mechanism to block the SnS
URL from the SnS administration side. This would be
done by some other mechanism like a HTTP proxy,
Firewall, Access-lists, etc.
That said. You can configure your SnS setup to use
categories and groups & to create a "User" policy for uploading
videos.
For Example, you can create a Public Group & then
add "all SnS" users to the Public group. Then you can
create specific groups for segmentation of users.
When a user adds a video the policy states that you have
to select a "user group" either "Public" or a specific group.
If this is done, only the users in the selected group can view
the videos.
A Caveat is that if for some reason a group is not selected anyone
who accesses the SnS URL will see the video. Also, any videos
listed in a featured list will be seen on the list (if not in a group).
If this answers your question, Please take time to mark this

Thank You!

Hi Tomas,
Thank you for you reply.
I have tried to import all users (from various groups) under a general group such as "students" but i cant proceed since i'm using LDAP authentication.
It doesnt make any sense though because i would only be able to restrict or allow videos for users under the same group only??

Hello,
I also use LDAP and I import a subset of users that I want to allow
access to the SnS. Then I create different groups like: Marketing, Sales,
Engineering, HR, Admin. Then I move the users into their specific groups.
I also have Public-SnS & Public-DS groups. I put all of the users in these
"Public" Groups.
After this is setup, the users can add videos to their Private group and\or
the Public Group (so all of the LDAP users can see). Folks that are not
signed in cannot see any videos...
I thought this is what you wanted to accomplish?

Yes, this is the case.
The only drawback we face is that we have to deal with around 3000 users and assigning each one individually to a public group is time consuming.
Is there any way to assign them in "bulk"??
