Our customer has bought two Call Managers from another customer and we don´t know the administrator password of the servers. We have thought to install again with the CDs the Call Managers.

Do you know if any special considerations or procedure is needed?

Well, I am not 100% sure of the legality of the whole deal but if memery serves you will have to buy a SAS contract for the Call Manager to be legit as far as Cisco is concerned. Other than that if you have the entire set of CM CDs you should be fine. The install will outt on a new OS and you can specify the admin password at that point. Can anyone else comment on the legality of buying a used CM from a non-resller?

Legally, Cisco software licenses are non-transferrable so while they may have purchsed hardware they don't technically own any software. They would have to buy new software -- the part number varies depending on what hardware platform they have.

From a purely technical standpoint, CallManager does have a license key that is required to install but it's no secret -- it is available online in the installation documents.

No special considerations other than use the media to re-prep the platforms, and then install CallManager.

Thank you very much for your comments
