I have a publically addressed Call Manager. I want users who are on private networks behind firewalls the ability to connect to it using Softphone (not IP Communicator). I saw a link on VPN:

Do I need to set up the getip.asp file and if so can I put it on CallManager

I feel there is nothing to be done on CCM. From the document which you provided....

"For example, if the IP address of your IP SoftPhone distribution web server is 10.21.15.10 and the IP SoftPhone distribution files are shared in a directory named "ipsp", the url to use on your PC to obtain its current IP address is http://10.21.15.10/ipsp/getip.asp".

there is no way to getting SOFTPHONE behing the NAT to work. becasue softphone uses TSP rather than sccp.

Yup - you could use a software VPN client on the PCs, and run the Softphone though...

In this case you would need to use the getip.asp script... I think you need to run a web install of the softphone to set up this file.... See the admin guide, in particular this section:
