Has anyone experienced random keytones generated during a conversation? It is usually heard on the ATA-186 side. The 186 has v2.16.2. Unfortunately, I don't know what I am connecting to as this was provided through Vonage IP phone service. I was told that they updated the software which was supposed to fix the problem. Is this usually related to the IP to POTS gateway?
Yes I have seen this too. From what was found, the ATA is interpreting certain frequencies in the voice band as DTMF. The ATA hears the freqencies of DTMF 1, for example, and then does a DTMF relay of the digit.
