TTY Angel

This may sound stupid, but I was trying to create a menu with TTY Angel.

I thought it could be used to create call handler menus like "Welcome to Micro Networks, for tech support press 1"

I tried entering that in the tool, and saving the wave file. Than I used the wav file in the call handler menu, but when I called, all I got was a bunch of beeps.

Can someone explain what is going on?

Thanks,

Dave Webster

Be sure to read "A Brief TTY Primer" in the help file,

http://www.ciscounitytools.com/HelpFiles/TTYAngel.htm#_Toc40151442

If you're "listening" to a TTY wave file with anything other than a TTY device then a bunch of beeps is what you should expect.

Then what is a TTY device, and how do I make this work for creating the menus? It says in the help file that you can use it to recreate the default menus, so I would think I could use it to create my own custom menus.

A TTY device is short for TeleType device or a TDD (Telephone Device for the Deaf) - this tool is designed for folks creating audio text applications and converting prompts over for deaf callers that are using such phone devices to access Unity. The help file covers a lot of this information...

You might be looking for the Audio Text Manager (ATM) utility that builds IVR-type responses into Unity:

A good training video there as well, cheers.
