Unity 3.1.5 Replication problems

LARRY KEEFER

We upgraded from Unity 3.1.2 to 3.1.5. Everything seems to go fine including rerunning the failover config. The primary and secondary servers failover monitor shows that file replication is set to 10 minutes and they are communicating, but the secondary server is not receiving any replication. DBwalker shows 66 errors on the secondary server regarding missing greeting files.

The primary server has the following error in the application event log.

SQL Server replication between the primary and secondary machines is inactive. The subscription to UnityDbPublication has been deactivated or is absent. Recreate the subscription and the publication snapshot to restore replication.

We don't want to re-run failover config on the primary right now since it is the most update server and it would stop all the Unity and SQL Server services.

Any suggestions.

The error on the primary server means that SQL replication has not been configured between the servers which also might mean that file replication is also not configured between the primary and secondary servers.

On the secondary server, verify that AvCsNodeMgr service is running. If it is running, re-run the failover config on the secondary server. This should re-build the file replication and SQL replication between the two servers. Doing this will not have any effect on the primary server, and the primary server will continue to take calls. Unity on the secondary server wil be stopped and restarted though.
