Unity Backup Errors

I'm trying to get a full backup of Unity via Veritas Backup Exec. The backup job scheduled is for the c: drive, Microsoft Information Store, SQL Server, and the system state. Everytime I run the backup it seems to fail on the SQL server backup. In the job log file I'm getting :

An error occurred on a query to database UnityDb.

A SQL Server virtual device access denied error occurred.

Unable to open the item UnityDb - skipped.

All other jobs are fine except SQL. Can anyone tell me what this can be, and what should definatley be backed up on Unity.

not sure why Veritas would be complaining about the UnityDB... You definitely need this... it's the vast majority of the local information Unity cares about.

Check out the DiRT utility real quick... try a backup (don't get messages) and see if it flies through - it also does an online backup of the UnityDB database out of SQL - if that works then something is goofy about the SQL plug in for your Veritas install, if not something else is at play. You can get the latest DiRT versions here:
