Hi,

Our Customer has a large WIN2K Network. Now they are going for Unity (UM)3.1integrated with CM & with existing Exch2000 server.

As per unity installation procedure we have to update the schema by running the ADSchemaUpdate.exe on schema master(which by default is the forest root domain controller) .I would like to know whether I should take any precautions before running the same as this is there main server and also because All additions made to the Schema can not be removed, the only solution is to re-install Active Directory.

Also what can we do if the Ldif.log and Ldif.err files shows any errors .

Please suggest on the same

The changes that Unity makes to AD are very safe. We worked closely with Microsoft to develop and test them.

If you have a mock up AD lab for the customer you can deploy there first to help ensure a smooth roll out.

Should you encounter an error the log files will show you the object or operation which on which the failure occurred.
