Hi, I have a customer who would like to give IP telephony a try. He has a small branch office of 30 users and they only need simple call/receive call.
I am thinking of not using CallManager at all but use the Cisco Catalyst 4224 Voice Access Gateway with a Catalyst 3524 line switch, since the SRST can serve the purpose. But is this recommended? Or Cat 4224 SRST is meant only for redundancy and CallManager is still needed in the long run? Tks.

I don't know if the cat 4224 is currently supported by the IP Keyswitch feature.
Please take a look at:

You do need IP Keyswitch - SRST requires a callmanager to kick it off. To my knowledge, the 4224 only supports SRST - try an ICS 7750

Hi,
You can use Cat4224 for SRST and Cisco 2600 series(or 3600 series) with 12.1.5YD2 IP plus software for IP Keyswitch.
