VG200 and Remote Survivability

Can the VG200 Support Remote survivability yet for a Voice over IP network? I had heard that Cisco was working on this and this feature would be available soon.

Not yet. I beleive they are working on it but do not know the version or release date.

What do you want the vg200 to do with SRST? It only has an ethnet port for connectivity to the LAN.

The VG200 can act as a voice gateway for the IP telephony products. By hanging a VG200 on an existing router that is part of a customers existing Data network, I have been told that it is possible to use a VG200 as a Voice gateway. It would basically be used the same way that a 4224 would be, the only difference is that in this case, the VG200 would be connected to the 3524 Catalyst 24 port switch and also, the 4224 offers remote survivability. Please correct me if I am wrong.

This may be possible. The point I am making is the with the 4224 you can have WAN links. So the 4224 can be deployed at a remote site. In case of lose of link the phone at the remote site would failover to the 4224. The vg200 only can have a fastethernet connection. So the only way to put is across the WAN would be via the ethernet. For SRST the SRST router must be the default gateway. I guess you could come up with a scheme to make the vg200 the default gateway for the phones but it would not be practical to me. That was my point. This may be coming in the future.
