A Fax server from Castelle connected to a VG248 is missing pages randomly. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Specially if we receive long faxes like 14 pages we could miss one or two pages. I have disable all fax relay setting on the vg248 and on the PSTN gateways and I'm currently changing the input and output gains. Do youhave any ideas?

Hi Tony,
What is the topology of the network?
Does the problem happens in both ways ? for example placing a fax from VG to PSTN
Now are you using FAX Relay or FAX passthrough ?
I have seen this when the ECM ( error correction mode ) is enable. We will need to disable ECM.
In VG248
Step 1 From the main menu, choose Configure.
Step 2 Choose Telephony.
Step 3 Choose Port specific parameters.
Step 4 Use the arrow keys to select the port to configure and press Enter.
Step 5 Choose Fax relay.
Disable ECM ( Error Correction Mode ):
Follow these steps to modify the ECM settings:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 1 Choose Telephony.
Step 2 Choose Port specific parameters.
Step 3 Use the arrow keys to select the port to configure and press Enter.
Step 4 Choose Fax relay ECM.
Step 5 Choose disabled to disable ECM
Its already disable?
