I need to sizing a voice gateway for an IP telefony provider. He has an Ip PBX asterisk in G729 codec and want to comunicatte with PSTN with 4 E1 in G711 codec. The gateway would have to make trascoding of 120 channels.
I think in an Cisco2800 solution but I found the DSP problem with this solution.
I need aid to make the gateway sizing since never I had one of this size.
Thank you very much

you can play with the dsp calculator to find a suitable ISR for this, most probably you will need at least a 3725 or 3745 for the 2 E1s and the 120 transcoding sessions

I played with the DSP calculator and I am not sure about the Cisco3800 configuration is the best option.
Has Cisco another gateway option?, or is the 3800 the best option?
Thank you

I have seen your previous post, but 3700 series is EOS.

sorry, was not aware of that. unfortunately any lower platform cannot support what you need for the E1s and the transcoding sessions

Why do you need so many transcoding sessions?
It might make more sense to split this between a couple 2800 series then to back up the Brinks truck for a 3800 series.
