VRU Interface: Call Routing Interface versus Event Data Feed

I am a bit confused by the Cisco VRU Interface spec. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Figure 12 shows a message flow which includes the messages Route Request Event, Route Select and Route End. These are shown as being part of the Event Data Feed. However elsewhere in the spec these are described as part of the Call Routing Interface, not the Event Data Feed.
