When are Cisco enabling more thin client support for Windows rather than only supporting it in the Cisco tower and Dell Wyse 520. I understand Cisco will publish a standard supproted thin client but woudl like to know when this is release.

Hi thanks for the quick response. I have been through the data sheet you refer to but cannot see where it refers to the minimum spec for the thin client. I can see table 2 but it does not mention it:

Also from a licensing perspective would i only need the following SKUs per client: CVXC-VVFW-K9 and CVXCM-K9

The VXC-M was used to manage those VXC clients. In this case it is not needed and neither is the other stuff

Section 3.7 has all the details. You need partner access.

Sorry - so you are saying you do not need a thin client.

I have read the ordering guide and get this but what i do not understand is there any licensing costs - all the licenses in this section are zero cost. We are planning to use HCS and when i put in the part number in CCW it says it is not supproted in CCW. We are responding to a bid which has a need for 19k virtual desktops so need to understand the licensing implications and costs. Aside from Cisco AS are you saying there is no licencing costs as before we had to order

Because of the variability and potential complexity of deploying VXME in customer environments and to help ensure success, a mandatory Cisco Advanced Services contract will be required to be able to order VXME Licenses and to receive technical support. This requirement will be based on the overall deployment size and chosen VXME platform (see below). Advanced Services will work with the customer and perform an evaluation, which will determine the remediation work required and the associated contractual fee. Before ordering VXME, contact your Cisco Services sales contact to finalize the support agreement. If you are not aware of your Cisco Services contact, refer to:

Yes client side license are no charge, it is included in cuwl or ucl. You will still need hcs licensing foundation/standard like you do on premise

I am using VXME 9.7. both Audio and Video calls working.

Desktop sharing option is grayed out. Dose the Desktop sharing option is supported in Virtual Environments.

My Jabber Version : 9.6.1

Regards

Selva

Desktop sharing is not supported with VXME. In VXME 10.5 you will have support for the IM Only desktop share

Note

Cisco Jabber desktop share, Jabber desk phone video (display of video on desktop when the thin client is connected to the user's desk phone), and Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) are not supported with Cisco Virtualization Experience Media Engine.
