Windows 2000 Advanced Server

Hi I am brand new to this forum. I work at NEC as a Systems Engineer. My question deals with Unity and its intergration with the 2000 platform. I've done a few installs on the NT 4.0 platform, followed the book and they've installed without a hitch. We are preparing a BETA site using Unity Enterprise on a NEAX Express Server in a few days. What are the most important things to keep in mind with an install of Unity on Windows 2000 ? ( We will be running Exchange 5.5 SP3 still ) Thank you for your help.

Christopher R Henson
Systems Engineer, NEC America

There's lots of details on installing Unity on Win2K or upgrading an install from NT to Win2K in the documentation on the CD (check out the README file for more info)...

The most frequent problem folks have, however, is chaning the LDAP port being used by Exchange. Since the Active Directory not parks on 389 (the default port Exchange 5.5 uses for LDAP services) you need to move it for the server you're on (and really for all Exchange 5.5 servers in the site to be consisten) to something safe such as 1024. Folke miss this step or don't clear the "use site defaults" on the LDAP ports page for the server etc... If you make sure you get this done right, the rest should be pretty smooth.
