2 x cisco catalyst 6509 VSS connected to a SERVERS running ESXi using 2 interfaces (one each) without etherchannel configuration

Hello community,

I am concerned because I am new in a job and I realized that they have configured dell servers with 2 x 10Gbit cards and ESXi 6.5, those servers have links to each 6509 catalyst VSS switches.

interface 1 ESXi > TenG 1/1/2

interface 2 ESXi > TenG 2/1/2

The Catalyst Switches are in a VSS configuration, but my concern is about that there are not etherchannels configured on the Catalyst side and it seems that everything is working fine.

Does anyone knows how is it possible? Thanks in advance

It is possible for this to "work" if the configuration at the DELL side isn't configured correctly. It might show that there are two links but all traffic is going down one.
Another way is to issue the command "sh logs" on the switch. If there was any issues then the logs will be swamped with errors about MAC flapping from one interface to another.
