Hi,
We have Cisco Nexus switch 5020 and connected in Data Center and we have found the error message twice since morning for this chassis.
Error message details below,
2012 May 29 08:14:11 NDCSP-R08R13-SH1-ASI-1 %FWM-2-STM_LEARNING_RE_ENABLE: Re enabling dynamic learning on all interfaces
2012 May 29 08:14:17 NDCSP-R08R13-SH1-ASI-1 %FWM-2-STM_RAPID_MOVES: Rapid mac moves detected in the network - Disabling dynamic learn notifications for 180 seconds
2012 May 29 08:27:49 NDCSP-R08R13-SH1-ASI-1 %FWM-2-STM_RAPID_MOVES: Rapid mac moves detected in the network - Disabling dynamic learn notifications for 180 seconds
Also attaching show logging and show version for this Nexus chassis.
Suggest on this case if this is software issue or Hardware suspected.
Regards,
Ashutosh

Hello Ashutosh
This normally is more of an informational message on the Nexus 5k rather than a hardware/software issue. All this message is telling you is the switch is seeing MAC addresses move between different interfaces in the same VLAN at a rapid rate. To protect the CPU dynamic learning is disabled for 3 minutes when this condition is met.
In newer code, we would also print a message with actual MAC address moving and interfaces they are moving between.
In most cases, in my experience this occurs during
1)A Bridging loop
2)A misconfigured device. For example if you connect a server which has teaming configured but do not configuring the switch interfaces to be in a etherchannel, the switch would see same MAC addresses on both interfaces.

Hello,
Thanks for suggesting and sharing information for this error message coming there.
Can you please suggest me how to confirm/find the particular or actual MAC address moving at rapid rate and the reason behind this error message originating.??
Thanks & Regards,
Ashutosh
