Cisco Prime Infrastructure - cdp neighbor none detected

Hello,

I have to sort out cisco prime with 140 locations and 1000 AP distributed accords IPVPN and put them into maps and correct locations as for now there is only chaos.  The plan was to generate a report from prime in order to find out which switch individual APs are connected to, but the prime does not see most of the neighbors, just some. I would like to mention that switches er not in cisco prime for the moment. When I run cdp neighbor directly on an AP I get neighbors info. Do I have to switch something on in order to get prime to get neighbor details ?

Best regards,

Piotr

Hi Piotr,

You have to make sure everything which makes up your WLAN setup is integrated to your Prime Infrastructure. This means Prime should know the following.

1. All the switches in the network

2. All the wireless controller in the network

3. All the routers in the network

Without devices being integrated to Cisco Prime you will not get the full visibility.

Regards,

We have this problem too and all of the Routers, Switches, LWAPP and autonomous WAP are in Prime and the CDP is is enabled.  Check the device and for some they are reporting.

Here is an expert of the report.  Also tried changing the telnet setting to Global did no good.
