Hi
With DCNM 11.4.1 and a VXLAN fabric is there a way to rename a switch? We have several leaves and spines which now have hostnames that are nonsensical as the DC has been reorganised (they include the physical location in the hostname and that location has changed).
It's all working but it confusing now for the BAU people.
We don't want to drop the switches out of the fabric rename and reimport as there is a lot of configuration on them that would take a long time to put back (especially the spines which are border gateway spines and links to the DCI as well as northbound networks).
Something that required putting them in maintenance mode would be OK as well as anything that let us reimport the config after a name change.
Thanks

OK fixed it !
For anyone looking to do this check that there is only a single copy of host_11_1 policy (or policies derived from it) applied to a switch. Ours had two for some reason hence the bouncing between the old and new hostnames.

I have tried making a copy of policy host_11_1 and then adding that to the switches in question with a priority of 1. It does change the name successfully and that's reflected in DCNM but every time I re-synch the fabric it says that the switches are out of synch and changes the hostname back again. Then a few minutes later they get auto changed back to the new name but again a re-synch puts them back to the original.
