Hi out there
I have a set of cisco 5020 and 5010 which I need to inter-connect through a 10 gbps LR SFP module. I have inserted it and it looks ok in the status from the box - but it is pretty silent - no light pulses ? nothing (and of course hereby no link). I have checked the compability matrix and found that lille note here: " 1 Only Version -02 or later is supported."
The one inserted here which seems pretty silent is this one:
SW5020-01# sh int et 1/37 trans
Ethernet1/37
sfp is present
name is CISCO-EXCELIGHT
type is 10Gbase-LR
part number is SPP5101LR-C1
revision is A
serial number is ECL141703Z8
nominal bitrate is 10300 MBits/sec
Link length supported for 9/125um fiber is 10 km(s)
cisco id is --
cisco extended id number is 4
I have some other modules with a V01 and another V02 after the serial - and the one shown here says revision A - might that be the same as Version 01? - is this the version numbers of these SFP modules? If I got a non-supported module delivered is there any chance that Cisco will replace them
Are there somewhere where I can check the versions based on the serial-number?
best regards /ti
