Hi,
Our 5596's are running on code version 5.2(1)N1(7) and i have just seen the bug CSCup82624. During a maintenance window we had to delete and re-add 800 vlans to our secondary nexus 5k.
This was because we needed to put the vlans that were already in the database into spanning-tree.
When we tried this previously on a handful of vlans the vpc's went into a type 2 inconsistency state and became suspended.
The workaround we applied -
Primary 5k
put into spanning-tree on the primary 5k - spanning-tree vlan 2,7-9,8...... priority 16384
spanning-tree vlan 2,7-9,8......
----
Secondary 5k
put into spanning-tree on the secondary 5k - spanning-tree vlan 2,7-9,8...... priority 32768
spanning-tree vlan 2,7-9,8......
at this point vlans will be suspended with a type 2 consistency check
Only by deleting and re-adding on the seconday 5k did we manage to bring the vlans into spanning-tree. Doing over 800 vlans - it took along time.
The secondary switch reloaded 3 times during the change.
Now looking at the bug - CSCup82624 - it appears there is no fix in any nx-os release for this which is worrying.
Thanks
Baljit
