Hi all
Refer to release note
Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Configuration Limits
for Cisco NX-OS Release 5.0(3)N1(1b)
Any one know the max vPC number if the vPC link is connecting to Catalyst switches and Servers in 802.3ad mode?

From a software point-of view:
The VPC numbers available from a configuration perspective is (1-4096):
(config-if)# vpc ?
<1-4096> Specify a Virtual Port Channel number
The VPC number is locally significant to the two VPC peers in a VPC domain. This means it does not matter what switch the etherchannel is connected to when using LACP.
There are limitations w.r.t. to the number of etherchannels supported on the N5Ks.
The N5K make distinction between "hardware" and "software" port-channels. The limitation seen on the "
Configuration Limits for Cisco NX-OS Release" pages refer to the hardware port-channels.
What is the difference between "hardware" and "software" port-channels?
"Hardware" port-channels are port-channel where the member interface terminate on the same chassis, similarly to classic ether-channels.
"Software" port-channels are the port-channels where the member interface span two chassis, like used with VPCs.
I trust this answered all your questions
