Please correct me if I am wrong

Senario:

Nexus 7000, top of the rack design. Fex can connect directly to 7000 via vpc link correct? Or do I need nexus 5k as end/ middle row for connectivity back to 7000.

If i understand your problem correctly then your Fex device will connect to Nexus5k and then you have vpc b/w 5k and 7k , please check this link hopefully it will help.

Hello Mustafa

Your assumption is correct. You connect a FEX directly to a N7K without going via a Nexus 5000.

But be sure to check the Nexus 7000 Data Sheet to see which FEX models are supported on the N7K. not all are yet.

No, you can use VPC from a N7K to FEX.

The only caveat is whether that particulat model of is supported on the N7K.
