I have two data centers connected via DWDM. In each data center I have two ASR's as OTV routers. The infrastructure is laid out in the attached diagram.
Each ASR has a 1GB join interface connected to the core and a 20GB port-channel connected to a switch for the internal interface.
I am trying to understand the traffic flow for OTV. If a host resides in DC 1 on a vlan that is extended to DC 2 and I have traffic destined for that host does the traffic traverse the join interface, internal interface or both? My 5 minute input and output on both interfaces is about the same. I am trying to figure out if I have a 1GB bottleneck for all my extended vlans.
