router required any license bundle for handling voip trafic

i have a cisco c2951 how do i check the voice capability ? does it required any license to handle voip traffic

Hi,

You need to install the UC license for the voice support. When you issue the Show version command on the router, it will show you all the installed and active licenses on your device:

In My case I do not have the UC license Activated. You need to first have the license installed in order to activate it.

There are two ways of getting the license. One is by purchasing the license from Cisco and the other is by requesting for a free 60 day trial license. Once you have the license with you.. copy the license file to the flash of the router and then key in the command

2951#license install flash0:FHH1216P07R_20090528163510702.lic

Hi,

Hope you used the license key that you generated for the device that you have and not the one that I have pasted in the reply. the license will be generated based on your Product ID and the serial number.

So do not use any other license key.... Kindly go through the steps that have been given in the doc to generate the license.

The license that you have installed is the permanent one.

And you should be good to go.....

Don’t worry I haven’t used your license(hope it will not work with my device :) , its been activated by default
