Hi All,
the 1900 switch I've brought home from work, which I want to be a client, doesn't seem to have client as an option.
(config)#vtp ?
domain Set VTP domain name
password Set VTP password
pruning VTP pruning
server VTP server
transparent VTP transparent
trap VTP trap
Is trap equivalent to client.? Cheers.

EDIT: Also, why does the copy command on this switch not have run, like "copy run start" so as to save the running config to start(NVRAM)..? Thanx again.

I this link should help with your VTP options:
Configuration is saved automatically in NVRAM, similiar to set based switches.

Hi All,
oh, ok, I see, so I just set to server, make sure I make no changes locally, and the switch will update via VTP reports from other switches. Also, thanx for the info referring to saving run. Cheers.
