Layer-3. The link between the 2 Cores will also be Layer-3. Trunks will be used between the Distribution Layer and the Access Layer.

Hi,

Yes it is better to have layer 3 connection between 2 core switch.

Also if possible you can have layer 3 port channel between 2 core connections for redundancy and better performance.

You can have trunk beween dist and access switches.

Hi,

Thanks but will these L3 links between distribution to core or between two core switches be physical interfaces or vlan interfaces (SVI's).Which one is recommended

I would use Physical interfaces (or a port-channel if using EtherChannels). If you use SVI's then you will have STP on these interfaces in the mix as well. There should be no need to have multiple VLAN's on these links so I would stick with Routed Interfaces.
