I have a 2924M in one of my dorms that I cannot get an IP address on. The software version is 12.0(5)WC13. The main interface back to the 6009 shows up. This switch is connected back to a 6009 via multi-mode fiber. I can ping this switch, but no IP. I have checked the interface on the 2924 and it shows up. I have also checked the switch & supervisor on the 6009 and everything shows up and working. I also checked Network Registrar (DHCP)to see if there was anything strange, but everything appeared normal. This 2924M was installed after a lightening strike knocked out a 2924M at this site. It worked, when we had another storm. However, it passes a "show post". Everything appears normal except that I cannot connect to the network. Does anyone has any suggestion as to what could be wrong? Any help is certainly appreciated. Thanks, Laurie Coles

If this was a trunked switch , you may have to recreate the vlan database if the switch is not running in the default of vlan 1 . If all port are in vlan 1 and no trunking then you may have to post the config to get more help and a little more info like is the uplink trunked etc....

This switch is in vlan170. I did a show vlan and it is posted below. It appears normal to me. Yes, the switch is a trunked switch. Laurie
