I see I have the catOS running on my new 2948 switches, is there is no option to run the Cisco IOS on these switches? I never thought Cisco would put out a switch without their IOS running on it. When going to their download site, I'm only presented with CatOS options, can anyone verify I will not be able to load the Cisco IOS on my switches?

No you cannot run IOS on these switches. They belong to CAT OS based CAT4k family.

If you want IOS based 48 port 10/100/1000 switch, consider the CAT4948G
