Hi - I have 4 Cisco 2950's running the client end of my network, and one Netgear GS5167 Gigabit switch behind some of my servers. Currently, each 2950 is uplinked to a Netgear port indiviually, with spanning tree enabled on the 2950. This setup thereofre takes up 4 ports on my Netgear switch. The throughput is terrible, and I have users who cant even save a 4mb spreadsheet.
I was wondering if it would be better to port group 2 ports on all 2950's, and put two crossover cables between each 2950, and run one uplink to my Netgear from one of my 2950's ? The Netgear is unfortunately an unmanaged model, therefore I think I will need to set bith ends of this uplink to auto negotiate ??
Thanks in advance.
