Cisco 3750 provides a method to clear the Switch IP Address and Configuration
"Step 1 Press and hold the Mode button. (see Figure 1-4.)
The switch LEDs begin blinking after about 2 seconds.
Step 2 Continue holding down the Mode button. The LEDs stop blinking after 8 additional seconds, and then the switch reboots. The switch now behaves like an unconfigured switch"
However, if someone who intentionly press the button for 2 + 8 seconds, all config will be cleared, is there any method to prevent from this action?

I believe you are entering the express setup mode. You can disable it using
Cat3750#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
Cat3750(config)#no setup express
You can find express setup documentation on CCO at

In global config mode enter the command 'no setup express'. The led function of the button still works but it won't wipe out the config if the button is held in.

Thanks you for help.
I am interested to know how you can find out this command as I can't find it in the Catalyst 3750 Switch Software Configuration Guide Cisco IOS Release 12.2(18)SE.
