4000 SupIII, how do I config it so I will receive a message if an interface

goes down. Say I telnet/console into the 4000.

Enable "logging event link-status" under the interface in question

interface FastEthernet3/3

logging event link-status

You can use the interface range command if you wish to enable this for all the interfaces
