6504's with 3 vlans and MHSRP

gb1241

Level 1

I have two 6504 switches, MSFC's in both. serving what I'd like to have as a 3 subnetted vlan network which consist of 1 subnetted class C.

All of my servers have two nics and are connected to each of the two 6504's.

a. Primary - Production classC/26

b. Secondary - Failover & Backup classC/26

c. DMZ classC/26

I'd like to make the A 6504 the primary for prodcutin and dmz traffic and the B 6504 the primary path for Backup traffic. I'd also like the B 6504 to serve as a fialover in the event that first switch or it's connection the to core fails.

1. Is there a way to do this with MHSRP?

2. What should my Vlan configuration be? Master - Master ?

Hi,

You can use multiple HSRP configuration for load balancing and making active/active configuration with failover for each other in your architucture, check out the below link for brief explanation with configuration of MHSRP in network.
