During a conversion from hybrid to native mode the config-register of the RP and SP need to be changed so the RP and SP bootup in ROMMON. Once a reset or reload has been entered and the ROMMON cli is showing, how do you tell if you are in ROMMON mode for the RP or the SP?
One more question, on the cat 6509 is the switcg.cfg the same as the switches startup-config?
Thanks

Issue the "reset" rommon command. The device will be reset and will display Bootstrap information. The MSFC Bootstrap information will actually say "MSFC" or MSFC-2 somewhere in it. The supervisor bootstrap information will not say this. I don't have direct access to a switch right now so I can't post any output to show you the difference.
The file switch.cfg is not the same as the switch's startup-config. By default , in hybrid mode, the switch stores its config in the NVRAM as a binary file.
In native ios mode, the switch's config file is stored on the MSFC's nvram as a text file known as startup-config. No config is stored on the supervisor when you run in native IOS mode.

Thanks Skarundi,
one more question if you don't mind, what information is in the switch.cfg file?
