I have got a 828 router that is constantly rebooting, i don't even have chance to get into the config. Is there anyway of resetting it to its factory default settings?? (i have openedd it up and there are some pins inside that could be used to do this???)

Hello Mark,
I am not sure about the pins...can you get into ROMMON (usually requires a Ctrl + Break key sequence within 10 seconds after rebooting the router)?
If you can, try to reset the configuration register, here is how to do it:
There could, of course, also be a hardware problem, if you have one available, you could try and change the flash or DRAM.

Depending on where you're breaking down in the boot cycle, something in the configuration could indeed be causing it to crash. You need to configure the router to boot up and ignore its saved configuration. The way to do this is very similar to the password recovery procedure, shown here:
Perform the steps up to and including step 8 to get to enable mode on the router. Then issue a "write erase" to clear the router's stored configuration. Enter configuration mode with "conf term", set "config-register 0x2102", exit configuration mode, save your config and then reboot the router.
