8540MSR Enhanced mode?

Hi,

We have 5 Cisco Catalyst 8540MSR ATM switches.

We have been using them to switch PVCs between different routers, but we would like to finish some of the PVCs in the switches.

As we have seen in the Cisco documentation and examples, it seems that the catalyst must be Enhanced Mode.

We don't know exactly how we could verify if the equipment is Enhanced Mode capable, because we don't know wether it is a hardware or software feature.

Thanks in advance.

I believe you are referring to the enhanced ARM module(C8540-ARM2) which is hardware. You can do a "sh hardware detail" to see if you have ARM2 module.

The following tech tip has output of sh hardware detail from a switch has ARM2

Good morning,

That is what we get with a show hardware:

The IOS version we have is cat8540m-wpk2-mz.121-19.E2.bin

We already have a Route Processor, but do we need also a ARM for finishing the PVCs in the switch?

Thanks again.
