Advanced IP IOS on 871 .

Hi all,

Is there any known issue on installing Advanced IP IOS (12.4) on Cisco 871W with 24MB of flash memory? According to Cisco website the router have to be equipped with 28MB of flash. Actually there is enough free space (as far as a now) for this IOS (especially without the SDM) but the website restrictions are just straightforward ? the Adv. IP IOS needs 28M of Flash, period. They even ship the routers equipped with this particular IOS with 28M installed without additional payments.

So, is there anything bad goes to happen in case I?ll install Adv. IP IOS on 871W with (only) 24MB of flash?

Hi Alex

Its better to follow up the necessary perquisite before upgrading or loading the box with new ios code.Otherwise you will end up in rommon mode in your router.
