Applying "config-sync" to 6509 MSFC ?

I am preparing a network for transition to a 3rd Party and will be making many changes to several 6509/msfc2 configs. The 6509s are configured in DRM but currently without enabling redundancy>high-availability>config-sync. I want to enable this feature prior to the multiple config changes that are required, but cannot determine if this would impact user traffic to any degree. I will not be able to get downtime on any devices to do this.

Has anyone implemented this recently and if so did the change go smoothly.

The msfc2 use 12.1(8b)E9

Steve,

The config-synch and other HA features can be enabled on the MSFCs with no hit to user traffic. There is also high avail that can be enabled on the SUps as well to Synch the MLS (state) type info for Single Router Mode configs.
