I recently upgraded my ASA 5505 software version, but didn't like the configuration. I executed a write erase and reloaded, but now the ASA is repetitively trying to reload with no success. I get the following:
Platform ASA5505
Launching BootLoader...
Default configuration file contains 1 entry.
Searching / for images to boot.
No images in /
Error 15: File not found
unable to boot an image
Why would the image file not remain in the system?
What do I do now to get an image back on the ASA? I can even interupt the reload process.
Thanks

Hi,
Did you copy the correct software inage onto the ASA? If you have the correct image for the ASA, you can recover using instructions in folowing doc:
http://www.cisco.com/public/technotes/smbsa/en/us/remote/5500_image_rcvry.pdf
Thanks
John

Thanks John.
I actually found those instructions in the interim. Reimaged the ASA, configured it, copied to start-up. But, then lost it all again when I reloaded. Back at rommon #1>
Argh!!
I'm using software version asa924-k8.bin.
Why is it losing the configuration and the image?
Thanks

Hi,
Could be issue with wrong config register settings. Run confreg from rom prompt
rommon #1> confreg
set boot from rom to no and enable flash boot to yes
Thanks
John
