This topic is a chance to discuss more about the Internet of Things (IoT) Management. Learn more about the strategies that involve the connectivity of smart devices, its organization, monitoring and troubleshooting functionalities. Take this opportunity to ask the expert all your questions about the best practices to manage communication between your devices, including topics such as the main protocol LWM2M (Lightweight Machine to Machine) and the IPSO (IP smart Objects) data model.
The internet of things refers to the wireless communication between devices and their ability to receive send, and create data based on environmental factors or user activity.

I would like to ask one think, In a network management of network is very much important than deployment. So in IoT network where devices from small to large, low to to high capacity devices will participating in multiple types of devices network how it is possible to manage all devices at a single place with ease.

Hi prakhar123,
Thank you very much for your question.
As you said the IoT devices have different capabilities/resources, thus we can divide them in classes [1] (e.g. Class 0 with data size << 10 KiB and code size << 100KiB, etc.).
One aspect to consider in the design of a management system in IoT are the requirements needed to provide an efficient management. For constrained environments, the requirements include such as configuration, monitoring, self-management, security and access control, energy management, software distribution, traffic management, transport layer and implementation requirements (e.g. avoid large messages) [2]. Thus, different classes of devices get different type of management (the security aspects must be included in all of them).
Related to the topology of a management system, the classification in general is based in the position of the manager entity. The manager structure could be centralized (central entity that acts as manager), distributed (more than one manager) or hierarchical (more than one manager ordered by hierarchy level) [2].
For large networks with heterogeneous devices, I think the best approach would be use a distributed or hierarchical approach. In a distributed approach, the managers communicate in a coordinated way, the management tasks are distributed between the managers (we could set a manager by class of device). Similarly, in a hierarchical fashion, each manager is responsible of the management of its subnetwork and to communicate with the high-level managers. Thus, we could associate a class of device with a hierarchy level.
One example of grouping devices and manage them together through a proxy entity can be found in [3].
Hope that it helps.
Cheers,
Ines.
