Can I assign IP address on Uplink ports?

Hi mates,

I Have a catalyst 4500 series switch with 4 gigabit SFP port on it.

Can I assign IP addresses on SFP Gigabit uplink ports on Catalyst 4500 switches? (I have to ping those 4 ports at the same time from 4 PCs)

HI

u can assign IP Address to a port but before that u need to change it to a Layer 3 port.

config-if#no switchport command u have to use.
