Hi,
I found one of our customers with its net I contend 1000 hosts in one vlan with the configuration of switch 6509 for switches of edge 3550 with duplex half and 100 Mbps.
Which would be the best configuration between switches Core and switches of the access layer?
If I have 5 vlans, my server dhcp is in one of them, as I make so that all the stations of each vlan can receive an address IP Being that the o switch Core is one 6509?

It sounds as if you have a core 6509 switch, and 3550 access switches. I would reccomend thinking about configuring point-to-point ethernet connections between the 6509 and 3550 switches. Configure each 3550 as a seperate VTP domain, and setup the Access VLANs on the 3550. This will keep the broadcast traffic off the backbone, and breakup the huge broadcast domain. To gain access to the DHCP server, simply put an ip helper on the VLAN interface on the 3550. You will need to create the scopes on the server to match the Access VLANs on the 3550.
Also, you may want to change the duplex between the 6509 and 3550 to 100/full, or put a Gig link between the two.

Him, thanks for your answers.
I have some doubts:
As it does not have none switch redundant Core, I removed the protocol spanning tree of Core and switches 3550. It's correct?
