Capturing output drops on WAN links

Hi all,

Need some help on isolating output drops on one of our E1 links. The links are terminated on Cisco 3745 routers on both sides, and the peak link utilization is around 60%. The links are tested clean.

There is no pattern to the drops. The links will behave for weeks on end, and then suddenly a few thousand drops happen within a few minutes, at one end at a time, or both routers.

We have a TAC case running for this, and all possible solutions have been tried out without success. We have tried buffer tuning, increasing the hold queue and changing the serial card, modem amd modem cable.

TAC has suggestedd putting in a WAN sniffer to capture packets when output drops happen. While we are able to capture packets using WAN sniffer, we need to trigger a packet capture when the link is dropping packets.

Has anybody have experience in configuring triggered captures using Network Associates' WAN sniffer book?

Any help in confguring WAN sniffer, or isolating this issue will be appreciated
