Cat 5500 -- what do I need to add gigabit (GBIC)?

I'd like to add gigabit ports to my 5500 (WS-C5500) with Supervisor Engine III module (WS-X5530-E3).

I've read through sheets on the WS-X5410 but I'm not sure whether that interacts directly with the backplane, or if I need to add a GBIC module to my supervisor card... the documentation specifically notes the 5509 as using the backplane (I think), but also indicates that a 5000 can use the modules if linked to the supervisor engine.

I'm confused. What do I need to pull this off?

Thanks,

You can use either ws-x5410 or Ws-x5403 both are gig modules and as any other module it connects to the backplane and hence can talk to supervisor and other modules.

You can also add uplink modules ws-u5534-gesx or ws-x5536-gelx to the supervisor.
