CAT 6000 vs. 6500 chassis

Can someone tell me what is the difference between 6000 and 6500 chassis in the terms of backplane and cards and sups suport, and of course Cisco's support.

Would I downgrade my network by replacing 6500 chassis with 6000, while running the same sup.

6000 series does not have the Fabric bus in the backplane and hence you cannot have the Switch Fabric module(SFM) in the chassis. So you cannot use Fabric only line cards. Sups and other line cards will still work fine.
