I am looking for help in deciding upon a switch for an IDF that I am looking to establish. Right now I have a cat 4506 w/ 3 48 port 10/100 inline power cards and a 24 port gigabit module. We are running 3 vlans. (1 for printers, 1 for voice, one for other data) All I need is to be able to deliver these three vlans to the devices connected to this IDF. This is what I am looking to get:
WS-C3550-24PWR-SMI
or
WS-C3524-PWR-XL-EN
or
WS-C3550-24PWR-EMI
The C3524 seems to be end old life. The SMI is much cheaper than the EMI, but I dont know if I will need features that the EMI has and the SMI doesnt. Can anybody help me decide?
