I have a cat 5000 with a sup 1 card running code 3.2, recently I noticed the supervisor engine had a fault status when I did a show module. What I would like to know is what is a fault status and what kind of traps should I receive.

Do a sh system and check to see if all power supplies are good and powered up. Also check for fan status

Thanks for your response, what I really wanted to know what are some of the possibilities that can cause the sup engine to show a status of fault, and since I have snmp configured to send traps for module and chassis what traps would be sent.
