Catalyst 3524-XL-EN Amber RPS light

We have a Catalyst 3524-XL-EN switch whose RPS light is amber. The docs state that amber means:

RPS is connected but not functioning properly. One of the power supplies in the RPS could be powered down, or a fan on the RPS could have failed.

But, we do not have an RPS connected to this switch.

Any ideas?

Appears to be an hardware failure. Open a TAC service request if you have contract/warranty to get it replaced
