Catalyst 5500 working with a GBIC WS-X5410

Hi,

I want to add a gigabit module to Catalyst 5500(WS-X5410), but i could not find if i can use the Cisco 1000BASE-T GBIC with it module, i need it for servers.

someone've installed it ?

Copper GBICs are supported only in CAT OS 7.x and higher. There is no 7.x for CAT55500. Also, WS-X5410 is an intelligent module and runs it own software. Hence the copper GBICs are not supported in CAT5x00 switches.

Having said this, a copper GBIC might work in a CAT5k(I have seen it work in lab). However, it is not tested internally and hence not supported
