Catalyst 6348 module bad Toshiba chip

I have had multiple module failures of my 6348 mods across the campus that apparently have a bad chipset lot. Does DFM 1.1 have a specific instance or event that will notify me if traffic stops, even when all ports show connected via the console?

I believe not. http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/cw2000/dfm/dfm_faq.htm should clear up things for you. As a side not, DFM 1.2 is also now available.

NOt possible. these failures are not monitored and there are no specific event that corresponds to such failures. And when the traffic stops, DFM assumes that the it is within the threshold limit set and does not generate an alarm,

If there are any syslog messages generated co-relating to the component failures, then RME -> Syslog analyser will be a good place to check.
